I’m excited about this new application called JW Language http://www.jw.org/en/online-help/jw-language/ that the organization has put out for us. I wanted to share an idea with you on how I plan to combine using this application along with the free foreign language website (DuoLingo) to not only learn a foreign language but to also use it in the ministry! Both JW Language and DuoLingo are in the app store so that makes it easy to learn on the go or when you have a free moment.
I’ve been using DuoLingo for about a month now and I really like the program. Of course this is a secular program so to learn terms and greetings for the ministry you would turn to JW Language. I downloaded the app a few days ago and browsed through it, I LOVE it! The application is so easy to use. I also like that for each phrase or term your learning, there is a play button to hear how it is said and it sounds like a normal person, not a robot. The combination of both applications or websites can help you become fluent in another language!
I’m SUPER excited about this! For the longest time, I’ve wanted to go to a Spanish congregation. I’ve never visited because I didn’t really understand the language and none of the Spanish programs taught the terms that would be used in the Watchtower or Bible Study. Now that this program is out, I’m looking to fully immerse myself in learning the language and maybe trying it out in the ministry. Have any of you had success in combining this application along with your foreign language program?
