How to succeed at school lesson plan

ImageThis Lesson plan is taken from the Awake! magazine (October 2012) published by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. I broke this up over 5 classes.

Day 1: Link to article-

Read pg 2-3

  • How does going to school help you?

  • Read Ecclesiastes 7:12. Look at the last sentence of the scripture. Discuss how Jehovah lovingly provides access to wisdom (meetings, publications etc).

    -Read Galatians 5:23,23. Write how having those qualities help you at school or in the ministry.

  • What is your greatest incentive for being successful in school.

Day 2-

Awake 10/2012 page 4, Get Organized.

Also watch video entitled “What young people say about procrastination” from the website-

  1. What are the benefits of making a schedule?

  2. List two ways procrastination does not benefit you.

  3. How does organizing your books and supplies make things easier for you?

Day 3

Read Awake! October 2012 page 5, Get Help –

  1. How can your family, teachers or mentors helped you be successful in school?

    Read Proverbs 15:22

Day 4-

Read Awake 10/2012 page 6, Stay Healthy.

Read 1 Timothy 4:8. Also watch short video clip entitled “Healthy Lifestyles” from website –

  1. Why is it important to get enough rest?

  2. Why is proper nutrition important?

  3. List some of your favorite healthy meals and snacks.

  4. What are some of your favorite ways to stay physically healthy and fit?

Day 5

Finish article in Awake 10/2012 page 7, Have a Goal.

Read Proverbs 4:26

  1. Write how having goals will benefit you.

  2. What are your abilities?

  3. What future job options fit your abilities. Think practically.

  4. Consider you opportunities.

  1. This is such a good breakdown for lessons! Thank you! I would also like to thank you for actually having a site also. This is my first year homeschooling and I live in a small town with no other homeschooling witnesses!! And obviously all the searches online end up Apostate…I am interested in Ambleside Online for next year and I really like Charlotte Masons methods, however, I am obviously going to change the Bible Studies, but do you have ideas on how to easily gather homeschool resources from the GB? I searched for hours to find a history timeline lol AND…Do you know any other witnesses that homeschool or discussion groups, maybe a CM schooler? LOL Sorry to post it here, I didnt see a contact button…hope you dont mind…AGAPE! 🙂
